The Chrysler 300 was a dominant force in the full-size sedan segment for more than 70 years, offering impressive performance and unrivaled comfort throughout the years. The final weeks of the 2023 calendar year brought the production of the very last Chrysler 300 model before its retirement. Chrysler didn't want such a legendary model to simply fade away, so they resurrected the HEMI-powered Chrysler 300C for the 2023 model year. Here at Prestige Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we're excited about the 2023 Chrysler 300C and the symbolic closure it brings to the Chrysler 300's history book. History of the Chrysler 300C

While the Chrysler 300 was introduced in 1955, the Chrysler 300C joined the lineup in 1957. Designed by legendary vehicle designer Virgil Exner, the 1957 Chrysler 300C delivered a more powerful engine lineup and an upgraded design. The 300C was introduced with a two-door body with a body-on-frame chassis, available in both a hardtop and convertible. The front fascia featured two distinct headlights on either side of the "yawning" wide trapezoidal grille. The car also brought on the circular '300C' emblem with a red, white, and blue color scheme. The 1957 Chrysler 300C also featured gradually rising tailfins, which was one of Chrysler's signature features. The 1957 300C introduced a 392 cubic inch 6.4L HEMI V8 engine that delivered 375 horsepower. The Chrysler 300C was discontinued in 1960 and not heard from again until 2004. After six years of production, the 300C was discontinued again, until its reintroduction to celebrate its impressive history before the 300 lineup was discontinued after the 2023 model year.

What Powers the 2023 Chrysler 300C?

The 2023 Chrysler 300C honors its predecessors in a variety of ways. The most notable of which is the 6.4L HEMI V8 engine that lies underneath the hood. While the Chrysler 300C housed a 5.7L V8 from 2004 to 2010, the 2023 model reintroduces the 6.4L HEMI to honor the original model fully. Topping the performance of the original Chrysler 300C, the present-day 392 cubic-inch engine delivers 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. This immense power gives the Chrysler 300C a quarter-mile time of 12.4 seconds along with a 0-60 time of just 4.3 seconds! Aiding in the exhilarating performance of the Chrysler 300C are things like Brembo high-performance brakes, adaptive damping suspension, a limited-slip rear differential, and an active exhaust system to let out that signature HEMI rumble.

What's So Special About the 2023 Chrysler 300C?

Another way that the 2023 Chrysler 300C honors the models of years past is through its design. The Chrysler 300 has become iconic in the full-size sedan market, bringing luxury car styling cues and materials. In fact, when the Chrysler 300C was brought back in 2004, Chrysler partnered with legendary luxury car manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz, using structural elements from both the E-Class and S-Class models. In 2023, Chrysler meticulously crafted a special edition worthy of the '300C' name. On the outside, it carries over the Chrysler 300's overall design. However, subtle changes are made to hint that it isn't a regular Chrysler 300. For example, the front bumper is upgraded and features LED fog lights. It also features a black mesh grille with a Piano Black outline and a modernized version of the iconic red, white, and blue circular '300C' badge. Finally, the flared wheel fenders give it an aggressive widebody appearance hinting at its muscular nature. The interior of the 2023 Chrysler 300C includes heated/cooled front seats with black Laguna leather and '300C' front seatback embroidery. Technology is abundant in the 300C, with an 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen with navigation, a 7-inch digital driver information display between analog speedometer and tachometer, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system.
