2023 Ram 1500 vs Chevy Silverado

When it comes to your most demanding jobs, there are only two trucks you need to take a look at! Both the Ram 1500 and the Chevy Silverado are built for work, as they come with incredible towing and payload capacity to go along with their powerful engine options. While the power of these two trucks is certainly the selling point, we can't forget about the luxurious and tech-filled interiors, which make them two of the most well-rounded pickup trucks on the road. Below we have compared these two amazing trucks, so continue reading down below and see which one our team thinks you should be driving home in!

Power of the 2023 Ram 1500

With the Ram 1500, you get your choice of several engine options, with each one being more powerful than the last! The first engine we will discuss is a 3.6-liter V6 that kicks out 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes standard with an eTorque system that assists with the fuel economy and engine stop-start capability. After this, several options are available for the Ram 1500, with the first being a 5.7-liter V8 which gest you around 396 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque available with or without the eTorque. Then there is the diesel engine which is a diesel-powered and turbocharged with 260 horses and a whopping 480 lb-ft of torque. The last engine is for the high-powered TRX trim, and it's a turbocharged 6.2-liter V8 that pounds the pavement with 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Every one of these engines comes with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission, and a front-wheel-drive is available for those looking for a little more traction!

Power of the 2023 Chevy Silverado

The Silverado does its best to keep up with Ram 1500 with a few solid engines in its own right! Standard is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 310 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. In addition, you will have the option of a 5.3-liter V8 that will get you 355 horses and 383 lb-ft of torque or a 5.2-liter V8 with a solid 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the Silverado also has a diesel option which is a diesel-powered 3.0-liter V6 with 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Like the Ram 1500, all of these engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission. While the Silverado has a lot of power, there is more to be had with the Ram 1500!

Features of the 2023 Ram 1500

The 2023 Ram 1500 comes in many different trim levels that are sure to enhance your driving experience with its wide selection of unique features. The base trim is the Tradesman, which comes standard with 18-inch wheels, a 23-gallon gas tank, active grille shutters, coil-spring suspension, and trailer-sway control. If you want more tech items, check out the Big Horn, which has the latest version of the Uconnect system that has speeds that are five times faster than the previous version and can hold three times as much memory, and comes with an onboard wi-fi system and a tow-specific navigation system. Higher trim leaves come with a 12-inch touchscreen. One of the best things about the Ram 1500 is all its options, as you are privy to items such as 2-inch alloy wheels, quilted leather upholstery, suede headliner, jeweled shifter knob, and a 19-speaker audio system. Every trim level also comes with a clean air system which will filter out 95% of harmful particles in the cabin.

Features of the 2023 Chevy Silverado

With the Silverado, you get some exciting features in its own right to try and compete with the Ram 1500. The Silverado comes standard with leather seats, open-pore wood trim, a Bose premium audio system with stainless steel speaker grilles, and 12 standard tie-downs. Higher trim levels have more advanced features, such as power windows/door locks, cruise control, 20-inch wheels, chrome bumpers, mirror caps, GM's OnStar-connected services, and semi-automatic single-zone climate control. There is a lot to like about the Silverado, but the Ram 1500 is more advanced.

What pickup comes out on top?
