2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Drive Modes

The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona comes in two trim levels, R/T and Scat Pack, both offering different levels of power. However, both trims are powered by the same battery electric vehicle (BEV) powertrain. The powertrain includes an electric drive module (EDM) on both the front and rear axle to provide all-wheel drive. These EDMs are powered by a 100.5-kilowatt-hour (kWh) rechargeable battery pack. The battery pack is designed for maximum performance, with 550 kilowatts, which is more power per gram than other EV batteries. By swapping out the gas-powered engine with a BEV powertrain, the Charger Daytona models achieve instantaneous torque distribution for an exciting launch. While the EDMs produce 335 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque on their own, the Daytona models are tuned for even more power. The R/T, for example, comes with a Stage 1 kit from Dodge Direct Connection, which puts out 496 horsepower. For maximum power output, however, the Stage 2 kit, exclusive to the Scat Pack variant, rips out an exhilarating 670 horsepower. This allows the Scat Pack to reach a quarter-mile time of 11.5 seconds and a 3.3-second 0-60 time. 

All 2024 Dodge Charger models, including the Daytona lineup, feature a series of drive modes to optimize the driving experience. In Auto mode, the system will adapt on its own to changes in the road or weather conditions. Meanwhile, Eco mode optimizes regenerative braking to reserve battery power. The Sport mode allows for higher transmission shift points and power output to maximize performance. Finally, Wet/Snow mode prioritizes traction by managing power output and torque distribution. These modes give drivers a feeling of total control every time they step behind the wheel. As we mentioned above, the all-electric Charger Daytona models build upon the selection of drive modes, with a few that enhance the performance. First is Track Mode, which maximizes performance capabilities on dry, smooth surfaces. Meanwhile, Drag Mode is meant to be used on an enclosed drag strip and delivers enhanced launch times and increased straight-line acceleration to dominate the drag strip. Two other modes are added to the Daytona lineup. First is Donut Mode. As you may assume, this allows you to perform donuts by allowing only the rear wheels to rotate around the front wheels in either direction without having the traction control system intervene. Meanwhile, Drift Mode is designed to allow for controlled drifting around corners. This is achieved with three levels of slip angles and rear axle-biased torque distribution to help manage the slip angle. Meanwhile, the front dampers become fully soft, while the rear dampers become fully stiff, enabling an oversteer condition. Finally, the traction control system allows for varying wheel speed differentials without triggering a fault code.
