In 2025, Ram is phasing out the V8 engines, pursuing a more sustainable and efficient future. Replacing the outgoing V8 engines is the all-new Hurricane engine. This is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine available in both a standard-output and high-output variant. While the standard output engine delivers 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque, the RHO features the high-output variant, laying down a thrilling 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. No matter the output variant, these power numbers are significantly higher than the outgoing 5.7L HEMI V8 while running more fuel-efficiently. Plus, the powertrain used by the RHO is 150 pounds lighter than the one used by the outgoing high-performance model, serving to decrease the power-to-weight ratio. This power, coupled with the lighter weight, four-wheel drive, and a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission, gives RHO drivers an exhilarating 4.6-second 0-60 time, a 13.1-second quarter-mile time, and a top speed of 118 MPH.

The all-new RHO is nearly a spitting image of the outgoing performance model, adopting many of its high-performance features. It is easily distinguishable from the Core Ram 1500 lineup thanks to numerous exclusive features. The grille, for example, hosts flow-through 'RAM' lettering for optimal engine cooling.
