Why drivers join Jeep clubs

Two main reasons people join Jeep clubs are to go off-roading and help with charitable causes while performing helpful services. There are several different scheduled events, such as raffles, fundraisers, and trail runs, that happen throughout the year. Club members are always eager to assist in keeping the trails open and get involved with causes that will benefit. In a state with so much natural beauty like Colorado, wilderness-related causes take on a little bit more weight. Fans of off-roading will typically join a Jeep club to preserve the natural beauty of the outdoors they love so much and so they can take their adventures to the next level.

Blue Ribbon Coalition and Tread Lightly

While the Blue Ribbon Coalition started up in Idaho, it has made its way to the great state of Colorado. The group's goal is to ally recreationists and make the public aware that all kinds of resources need to be preserved for further off-roading use. Over the years, it has evolved into an organization that further educates Jeep drivers and off-road fans so they can be additionally represented in certain administrative and judicial arenas. Meanwhile, Tread Lightly! spearheads a national initiative that protects and enhances different opportunities for recreation and access while making individuals aware of good stewardship and providing members with good ethics outdoors. Several prominent Jeep clubs pair with these groups to help promote the greatness of the outdoors throughout the state.

Hi County 4Wheelers and Wild Bunch Club

There are several Jeep clubs throughout the state that you can join that are heavy into four-wheeling and protecting the environment. One such club is the Hi County 4Wheelers which has several members and has adopted 14 trails across western Colorado that they help to maintain. The group works closely with the Blue Ribbon Coalition on maintenance and land use issues. Then there is the Wild Bunch Club which also has several adopted trails in the area, including Imogene Pass On The Ouray Side, Ophir Pass, and Governor Basin, that they maintain with the forest service. This group is also involved with the Local Veterans Organization and helps out by giving trail rides to disabled veterans at events. This group also takes local boy scouts from the Grand Junction area on an annual weekend campout to Moab.

Mile-Hi Jeep Club

One of Colorado's most prominent Jeep clubs is the Mile-Hi Jeep club. For the past 26 years, the Mile-Hi Jeep Club has raised funds to help the local Denver Children's Burn Hospital Camp, and with the money the group has donated, they have sent over 200 families to the camp for a week. The big event for this group is the All-4-Fun event which happens in early August and is held from August 2-8 in Chaffee County. It's a family event that features mountain excursions for all levels of Jeepers, from stock to buggy. The prize night has left participants with several parts and accessories awarded by major brands. All proceeds from the event go to land use-related causes, and donations are raised for the Children's Hospital Burn Camp.
