Experience the Safety of the Jeep Compass at Prestige CDJR!

Jeep takes driver safety very seriously. Here at Prestige Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we take the safety of our customers and their passengers equally seriously. The Jeep Compass is a compact SUV that has been among the front runners in its class, partially due to the safety features that it has to offer. As we enter Jeep's 2025 model year, the Compass returns with an array of standard and available driver assistance technologies on top of its standard safety equipment, like seatbelt pre-tensioners, a backup camera, six airbags, and a high-strength steel frame. Below, you can take a close look at the advanced safety features of the 2025 Jeep Compass, how they work, and the safety they provide!

Forward Collision Mitigation

The Jeep Compass helps you avoid a frontal collision with numerous measures in place. Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking uses forward-facing radar sensors to tell when you're approaching the rear of the vehicle ahead too quickly. If this is the case, it will alert you with audible and visual warnings. If immediate action isn't taken to slow the vehicle, the system will apply the brakes to prevent you from rear-ending the car. These same sensors are used for the Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection feature, which alerts you to possible obstacles outside your range of visibility. If you don't immediately take action to avoid it, the Compass will automatically apply the brakes.

Drowsy Driver Detection

The Drowsy Driver Detection feature shows Jeep's commitment to safety. This system monitors the car's movement, tracking its lane position and speed, looking for patterns that are indicative of a drowsy driver. For example, weary drivers tend to sway within the lane and may also fluctuate the vehicle's speed. If the system notices a pattern of these behaviors, it can deliver an audible and visual precautionary warning, advising the driver to take a break. This feature also tends to work on distracted drivers.

Blindspot Monitoring

Jeep's Blindspot Monitoring feature gives Compass drivers an extra set of eyes on the road by alerting them to a vehicle in the lane next to them that may not be visible in the side mirrors. The system will detect a car to the side while behind the Compass using rear-facing sensors. It will then alert the driver to its presence by illuminating a light on the mirror on the corresponding side. The Blindspot Monitoring feature also includes Rear Cross-Path Detection. This uses the same sensors to alert the driver to obstacles or crossing traffic while reversing. The Compass' standard Active Lane Management feature works in conjunction with Blindspot Monitoring. If you begin to stray from the lane of travel unintentionally, the Compass will alert you to take corrective action. If you do not, the system will briefly take over and gently steer the Compass back to the center of the lane to avoid a collision with a vehicle in a blindspot.

What Other Safety Features Are Available for the 2025 Compass?

In addition to standard Forward Collision Avoidance, Blindspot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Path Detection, and Active Lane Management, the Jeep Compass is also eligible for numerous other advanced safety features. First is Adaptive Cruise Control, which coordinates forward-facing sensors and the cruise control feature. When you set a cruise control speed, the system will automatically maintain that speed, like traditional cruise control. However, say you set the speed for 60 MPH, and you come to a vehicle going 57 MPH. In this case, the Compass will slow down to maintain a safe distance from that car before matching its speed. Once the road ahead clears or you change lanes, the Compass will return to 60 MPH when it is safe. Adaptive Cruise Control also allows you to set a safe following distance between the Compass and the vehicle in front. Also available is Active Drive Assist, Jeep's hands-on-wheel semi-autonomous driving system. Coordinating numerous sensors and cameras, this feature maintains a safe speed and distance from the lead vehicle while maintaining a safe lane position without any driver input besides simply holding the steering wheel and keeping eyes on the road.
